Drilling and Redrilling

( 41/2 " , 6 " , 61/2 " dia borewell )

Borewell Drilling is scientifically said as borehole drilling where a shaft of required measurement is drilled in the ground for the required depth to tap the available groundwater for the purpose of drinking or other usages based on the quality of water.

Borewell drilling is adopted in two methods namely surface drilling and well drilling, adoption of the service depends upon the location of drilling, required amount of depth to be drilled, type of geological formation of the area and cost-effective strategies.

Surface Drilling

Surface drilling methods are adopted in areas where the drilling location is vacant and has enough space for the drilling rig to set the point. There are various diameters of drilling bits used in surface drilling based on the usage of the borewell. As per current market situation, high power rigs are equipped with a facility to drill borewells up to 1500 feet.

Domestic/ home purpose - 4.5 inch,6 inch,6.5 inch borewell drilling

Agriculture purpose - 6.5 inch, 8 inch, 10 inch, 12 inch borewell drilling.

Industrial purpose - 6.5 inch, 8 inch, 10 inch, 12 inch borewell drilling
Borewell Drilling procedure: Drilling procedure of a 6.5 inch borewell is been explained in our draft, the procedure is the same for all dimensions of drilling.

The drilling rig is been set exactly in the point marked by a water diviner, hydrogeologist, groundwater locator or a borewell point identification expert.

Once the drilling rig is set in the point the 6.5 inch borewell drilling bit is set with the hydraulic hammer which gives pressure for the bits and is forced into the earth surface with the power produced from the high pressure compressor to blast the hole from the surface of the earth until the hard rock formation is hit.

Once the hard rock formation encounters the complete set of drilling rods along with the hammer and 6.5 inch bit is removed to the surface and casing pipes made of MS iron or PVC of required grade and thickness of 6 inch diameter is been installed into the borehole which works as a wall for the borehole avoiding the soil to fall into the well.

After inserting the casing pipes 6 inch bit is been set with the hammer to drill the rock and is again driven into the bore hole and the rock is been drilled with a pressure of 450 to 500 psi based on the geological formation of the area.

Normally drilling rods of measurement 20 feet each are been set for each and every 20 feet to drill all the way from the surface to the required target.

When the drilling is in progress the driller or the drilling supervisor carefully watches the changes information for each and every foot.

Usually, the rock color and formation changes step by step in certain cases we also find the same rock throughout. The supervisor keeps an eye if there is some issues of silt or boulders during drilling if silt or boulders occur during drilling special pipes called slotted or screener pipes need to be installed throughout the borewell (for detailed info on silt and boulders visit silt treatment or boulders treatment link in our website)

Once the water encounters from the borewell, it would be visibly running out from the drilled hole, approximately drilling supervisors can estimate the amount of yield from the borewell.

In case the water is sufficient the drilling process can be stopped if not it can be continued until the drilling reaches the next source. If the amount of water is high in the borewell, the borewell drilling cannot be processed further.

After drilling process is been completed it is advised by the senior geologists to process a complete borewell camera scanning proof, to visualize the number of fractures, number of dry and yielding sources, in case there are issues like air gaps, minor silt or boulders, so that the issues can be resolved in prior to installation of pump.

Issues:

  • A drilling rod bent by 1 degree from its axis deviates the drilling target by 21 inch for every 100 feet drilling.
  • Always do not construct any kind of storage tanks or septic tanks near the borewell as it may result in contamination of the well.
  • If the borewell are not cleaned at least once in two years it may result in blockage of sources.
  • Gelatin blasting in borewell may end up in complete collapse of the well.
  • Usage of borewell without installation of slotted casings in silted and boulder conditions may collapse the well, motor may get struck, issues in pumping may occur.

Robo Drilling

Drilling can be done in 6 feet gap! No need of space for the heavy Rig to enter into the narrow street, our Robot will come upto the distance of 200 meters from its master Rig and do your drilling!

Robotic Rigs are based on a new technology on Automatic Drilling Rigs which were specially designed for drilling the borewells in existing flats and construction completed buildings. Robotic Rigs has an advantage of 1500 feet drilling capacity and can move in all the directions through a narrow path and inside the door houses. Robotic Rigs are controlled by Directional valves and operated by a Remote controller which was responsible for its movement.

Inwell Drilling

Drilling can be done in 8 feet gap! No need of space for the heavy Rig to enter into the narrow street . Our well machine will be set upto 200 feet distance from its Master Rig and do your drilling.

Ground Water Survey/Divining

Borewell point selection.

BOREWELL point selection is the very first process required in construction of a borewell people pronounce this process in various ways such as Borewell point marking, Borewell point identification, Borewell point selection, Borewell point detection, water dowsing, water witching, hydro-geologist survey, geologist survey, scientific survey, coconut borewell point marking and many other pseudo names.

But borewell point identification is widely divided into two major methods which are differentiated as pseudoscientific method and scientific method.

PSEUDOSCIENTIFIC METHOD OF BOREWLL POINT IDENTIFICATION

Detecting a station based on ancient practices and beliefs without any kind of relationship or evidences of science is called pseudoscientific borewell point exploration. But there are chances of both success and failure in pseudoscientific surveys.

There are many methods followed as per pseudoscience based on their beliefs, any professional practicing these services are addressed as water diviner or water dowser.

Coconut Dowsing

Predicting a station based on the movement of coconut occurred due to availability of groundwater is termed as coconut dowsing.

Lets assume the globe in our mind and take the Lower part of the earth from the place we are standing as South pole of the earth and the upper part of the earth (from the place we are standing ) as the North pole of the earth. We (coconut dowser) are acting as the magnetic earth poles in between to attract the North and south poles with each other. Now assume we are walking on the earth Holding a coconut facing downwards that is less than towards the earth on our Palm and concentrating while walking as that coconut lifts the pointer part towards the sky and proves, where ever the north and south poles attract with each other indicating the Electro-Magnetic Force and finds the Under Ground Water or Dip.

Thus the method of Coconut Dowsing is been Marked as one of the best and ancient method of finding the underground water used for borewell drilling or digging a well for water.

The coconut dowsing professional walks around the land holding the coconut as shown in the figure.

When the coconut dowsing person reaches the target the coconut automatically raises erect.

Shaking the coconut again the water inside the coconut flows back to the head position.

The same process is followed in the opposite direction of the survey.

After multiple measurements, if the same fluctuation occurs at the same point the target is been finally marked for selecting borewell point.

Pendulum Water Dowsing

"Water dowsing" refers in general to the practice of using a forked stick, rod, pendulum, or similar device to locate underground water and has been a subject of discussion and controversy for hundreds, if not thousands, of years ago.

Although tools and methods vary widely, most dowsers (also called diviners or water witches) probably still use the traditional forked stick, which may come from a variety of trees, including the willow, peach, and witch-hazel. Other dowsers may use keys, wire coat hangers, pliers, wire rods, pendulums, or various kinds of elaborate boxes and electrical instruments.

In the classic method of using a forked stick, one fork is held in each hand with the palms upward. The bottom or butt end of the "Y" is pointed skyward at an angle of about 45 degrees. The dowser then walks back and forth over the area to be tested. When she/he passes over a source of water, the butt end of the stick is supposed to rotate or be attracted downward.

Water dowsers practice mainly in rural or suburban communities where residents are uncertain as to how to locate the best and cheapest supply of groundwater. Because the drilling and development of a well often costs more, homeowners are understandably reluctant to gamble on a dry hole and turn to the water dowser for advice.

Pendulum dowsing method work procedure.

  • The water diviner holds the pendulum in such a way as shown in the figure.
  • While walking on the earth surface from one point to another the pendulum starts rotating on its own.
  • The references are checked in various segments, where each and every walk should meet in the same co-ordinates.
  • Based on multiple axis meet the point is been finalized for borewell drilling.

Scientific appraisal About Dowsing

  • A 1948 study tested 58 dowsers' ability to detect water. None of them was more reliable than chance.
  • A 1979 review examined many controlled studies of dowsing for water, and found that none of them showed better than chance results.
  • A 2006 study of grave dowsing in Iowa reviewed 14 published studies and determined that none of them correctly predicted the location of human burials, and simple scientific experiments demonstrated that the fundamental principles commonly used to explain grave dowsing were incorrect.

*** Although scientifically the challenges are been declined, as the investments on a Borewell Drillings are huge, across verification by the ancient art is recommended by Bore well India Foundation

Borewell Camera Scanning

Borewell scanning is one of the major important resources which have solved more than 80% of issues which were undiscoverable.

Equipment used for scanning

  • High definition camera (100% water resistance up to 500 meters)
  • Waterproof cable of required length
  • Display unit
  • Analog to digital converter
  • Cable pulley
  • Cable Bobbin
  • LED lighting

"It's advised by Senior Hydrogeologist to visualize the borehole by camera scanning method once after drilling to understand the groundwater parameters and to visualize the working of sources in the borewell"

Borewell scanning is used in various applications:

  • To monitor the outcome from the drilled Borewell
  • To analyze the No. of fractures present in the borewell
  • To understand the rock parameters in the borewell
  • For troubleshooting issues like silt or boulders
  • For troubleshooting issues when rods or bit struck
  • To actually find the reason for yield decrease in old borewell
  • For analysis in rejuvenation of existing borewell

During Boulders: After drilling the borewell there are many cases where the pumps cannot be installed due to the obstruction by boulder stones entering into the borehole diameter, to remove the boulders from the borewell certain precautions are to be taken. At this point when Borehole camera scanning are processed, we can view the visual factor of the obstruction and plan accordingly to remove the same.

During silt: After drilling the borewell or during borewell drilling if silt enters into the borewell completely collapses or the pump inside the borewell gets stuck in such situations borewell scanning can be done to visualize the type of silt and till what depth it has covered.

For stuck motor/ rod orbit: when equipments or tools get stuck in the borewell it is very difficult to remove the same without visual evidence, in such cases, borewell camera endoscope scanning helps in analyzing and planning the operation.

Borewell scanning is one of the important service required throughout the life of the borewell to understand the increase and decrease of yield, season monitoring, doubt factor analysis, and borehole monitoring.

Pump Lifting

A separate Rolex machine for bore lifting.

In the ancient days, these process carry out with the help of chain pulley mechanism. This method is traditional method and very time-consuming. This chain pulley mechanism also required number of labor to carry out the process.

After this, there is an innovation took place of hydraulic and other machines which access in installation and lifting process. The major drawback of these machines is higher of operating cost. Its huge structure and required skilled labor to operate.

So that it's today's need to design and develop a suitable small mechanism to carry out installation and lifting process at low operating cost.
